Cloudy, minimal wind

Wind:

New Snow: 0-3″

Avalanche Activity:
Significant dry snow sluff initiated on steeper 40deg slope. Large enough to be dangerous.

Other Comments:
Approx. 8000 ft south aspect. Total depth @ pit location more than 6 ft. Total pit depth 3ft. 35 deg slope angle.

ectn 16 @ 12inches from snow surface.

This pit was dug on a more wind affected slope aspect where I could feel the snow slab up a bit under my skis at the end of a long switchback.

Another party member dug appox. 200ft higher and in the gut of the chute. No result.

These results kept us cautious despite the low avy danger. I backed off an adjacent chute with more wind affect/cross loading.
