Location: Point Six zone,...... 47,03825, -113,99067 outside of Snowbowl Terrain
Elevation: 7512
Aspect: SW
Slope Angle: 24
Sky: OVC but could see sun down in the valley
Precip: S-1
Winds Calm - Light from W. (On other parts of the mountain we received reports of strong gusts and saw evidence of blowing snow on the Lavelle Chair). At the end of the day skied through/past two old growth wind-blown-down trees. Spoke with patrol and somehow, we were in the right place at the right time because we were not exposed to that much wind. Refer back to pit details for where we were.
Temp: 10 - 15F during the time we spent taking obs as the sky cleared slightly
We found a mostly right-side-up snowpack with the exception of the buried surface hoar down 40 cm ( height of snow was 150 cm) and we did recognize the depth hoar up to 25 cm from the ground seems to be healing.

Advanced Observations
Observed Avalanche Problem #1:
Persistent Slab
Comments:
We found a layer of buried surface hoar about 40 cm down from the snow surface. We observed a CT15 on this layer that was relatively easy to pull from the column. Nothing below this layer initiated upon completion of the CT. Not enough time for Extended Column Test and not planning to ski anything suspect, BUT KEEP AN EYE ON THIS LAYER IF IT GETS WEIGHTED WITH MORE SNOW.
We dug to the ground at 150 and the depth hoar still exists but appears to be starting to heal.
