Spent the day skiing around the Little Tin Cup drainage, with an end of the day run down one of the Tin Cup chutes into the main Tin Cup drainage. The snowpack is deep and nicely consolidated in this part of the Bitterroot, HS 260cm @ 7500ft with no instabilities or prominent weak layers observed. With the exception of a sun crust on S aspects and surface and near surface faceting on mid and lower elevation NW-NE aspects, I felt cautiously optimistic that we might avoid a widespread PWL problem in this area after all this sunny weather.
