Bottom Line

Today we toured up to Lappy lake in the central Bitterroot's. We skied below 7400ft due to poor visibility and difficult trail breaking, and we were unable to investigate above the treeline for recent windslab development.
Observations made were:
• Rapid loading from new snow
• Very low-density snow sitting on top of dense old snow
• No instabilities in test pits
