Bottom Line

Today we toured up Bass creek to explore some north-facing terrain. We found good skiing but were surprised to find Isolated pockets of reactive wind slabs. We stepped back terrain choices to avoid exposing ourselves to areas with more consequences.
Observations:
• Strong ridge tops winds out of the southwest
• Reactive wind slabs in isolated pockets
• Temperatures remained cold throughout the day
• Lots of old avalanche derbies
