Bottom Line

Today we skied at Lolo Pass around the visitor center. We stuck to shaded slopes where the skiing remains good. There was widespread surface hoar and a buried layer of surface hoar 13 inches down (33cm). We found no propagation in our extended column test. (ECTN 23, CT24 BRK)
Other observations:
• Solar aspects had a dense breakable crust up to 4 inches thick, making for challenging skiing.
