Bottom Line

Travel was from the 4600' to 6200.' We started our tour at about 9:30 am and finished at 2:30 pm.
6"-8" (15cm-20cm) of new snow fell in the past 24 hours making for much-improved skiing and riding conditions. The new snow is bonded well to the old snow surface. Below the new snow, we found a melt-freeze crust on all aspects and elevations. Solar aspects quickly became damp when the sun came out. Key Points from today are:
•The new snow is bonding well to the old snow surface.
•Buried faceted layers are rounding.
•ECTN20: NE Aspect 5800.' Breaking on rounding near-surface facets buried about 2' (60cm) down.
