Bottom Line

We traveled in the Camas Lake drainage today from 5,000 to 8,200 feet. This week's cold temps have kept the 3 to 6 inches of snow we received in the last week dry and faceted. Recent winds have sculpted the snow and deposited it on easterly aspects on elevations above 7,500 feet. We dug on a northeast aspect with no significant test results. We noticed old debris from a windslab on a southeast aspect at 8,700 feet. It had been intentionally triggered by a public skier on 02/24/2022 (see public camas /kidney pk observation for more). There was also a deeper crown in a steep couloir above Kidney Lake.
