Bottom Line

Today we toured in the rattlesnake wilderness outside of Snowbowl ski resort. There was a foot of light-density snow on top of a crust. We kicked off small winds lips from ridgetops that initiated wind slabs on Leeward slopes (NE, E aspects). We could easily trigger storm slabs on test slopes by skiing above convexities.

All the slides we triggered were small but could quickly grow in size and destruction in more extensive terrain. For this reason, we avoided terrain over 35 degrees, terrain traps, and wind-loaded start zones. Inbounds at Snowbowl Ski Resort and on Three Tiers into Jenny bowl, we had some of the best turns of the season.

Ski and ride safe.
