We dug an ECT on the NE wind loaded slope near ridge top at 9000 ft yesterday afternoon. New snow accumulations were limited until several hundred feet below the ridge due to high winds but we did dig in a pillow. There was 10 inches of soft snow on that crusty base. We were unable to saw more than a foot into the crust with my p cord. Had no propagation in the test or evidence of a layer when prying the block. Total snow 20 to 30 inches near ridge top. Stuck to terrain less than 30 degrees due to nasty runouts, lack of base and big wind load. Did not see any cracks while skiing. Base ran out about 8000 ft even on the north side.
