Dug a pit on the E facing ridge of Gash Knob at ~7400'. ECTX. 115cm of snow. Very uniform density in top 50cms (4f), slightly denser below. Even changing storm densities were hard to detect. Observed recent crown of windslab avalanche directly below ridgeline of S bowl of Gash Knob, maybe 8"-1' deep and ~25ft across (see photo). Various wind affectation on the climbing ridge from multiple directions. Winds shifted from nothing to SW during the day, gusting up to maybe 30mph and transporting fresh snow.
