Observations

Sunny and clear with little wind, 35F. Dug a pit on an ENE facing slope at ~8000’. 140cm snow depth. CT 15 and 25 partial collapses both with Q3 shear quality on layers of near surface facets 20 and 30cm down from snow surface, respectively. However, ECTX with no propagation on these layers. Started mellow and worked out way into steep terrain skiing nearly all aspects. Like most of the forecast area, strong wind affectation on W faces, some thin wind crusts on E faces and sun crusts on S, with NE slopes holding the best snow for riding. No signs of recent avalanches or instability.
