Skied some NE and W slopes today. No new avalanche activity observed, with the exception of some point releases/sluff on 45+° N slopes. 6-8 inches of new, soft snow with recent windslabs on W aspects and older wind loaded N/NE slopes. Dust on Crust skinning conditions made skinning tough on slopes >20° as snow was not bonded to crust.
Pit at 6,900 ft on a N aspect showed 20cm of recent snow above the 10cm rain crust, ECTN 22 40 cm down with 30 cm of propagation. Surface Hoar? Observed on all but S aspects, pictured here on a N slope.
