Whether you’re a seasoned backcountry traveler or just getting started, this is a great opportunity to connect with your community, learn about the season’s snowpack and avalanche conditions, and support your local avalanche forecast this winter.

Meet Your Forecasters: State of the Snowpack

It’s been an unusual winter across West Central Montana, with weather and snowpack patterns keeping us all on our toes. With a potential pattern change on the horizon, our forecasters will take a thoughtful look at the season so far and what it may mean for the weeks ahead.

You’ll hear an in-depth, accessible overview of current snowpack structure, recent weather, and avalanche conditions, along with what our team is watching as they head into the field. Ask questions, get an inside look at how forecasts are built, and learn how this information helps everyone make better decisions and enjoy safer days in the mountains.

Connect with Your Community

Looking to meet fellow backcountry travelers or reconnect with familiar faces? This is the perfect place to share stories, swap tips, and maybe even find a new riding or touring partner. Expect good conversation, friendly faces, and plenty of shared stoke and good times for anyone who loves winter.

Raffle Prizes

Every guest will have a chance to enter our raffle featuring great prizes, including outdoor gear and equipment, fresh Avalanche Center merchandise, and more. It’s a fun way to support your local avalanche forecast and maybe head home with something extra.

Sip for a Cause: Special Edition Pint Glass

Raise a glass in support of your avalanche forecast. This event features a limited-edition MissoulaAvalanche.org pint glass showcasing local artwork, available to all attendees, with all proceeds donated to the West Central Montana Avalanche Center. Sip, socialize, and know that you’re directly supporting the avalanche forecasting and education programs that help keep our growing community safe, informed, and ready to explore the backcountry together.
