Observation Date: 02/13/2018

Route/Location:
We were riding the upper bowls of copper creek, Lincoln Montana when a sled infront of us high marked a severly wind loaded, 60 degree slope. The crown apeared to be 3-4 ft and broke as the sled arced the top. Snowmobiler was lucky and escaped out the side. During the next few hr, we saw 3 more similiar sized slides in the same area.
I ride this area often, todays slides were unprecedented, though so was the level of wind loading over the entire area.

Weather:
Sunny, 20F, wind out of the west 15 kts, gusts to 25 kts generally blowing down the valley.

Wind:
Blowing surface snow, Wind crust and pillows over the entire area.

New Snow: No New Snow

Avalanche Activity:
4 mid sized that we saw, a few small ones we caused. Snow was hard, wind loaded. 50 – 60 degree slopes, 8000 ft elevation.
