Observation Date: 02/02/2014

Route/Location:
Skiing the front bowl (east facing) at gash Point, Bitterroot Mountains. Dug a pit ~7200ft. in 245cm of snow. ESE facing. Right-side-up snow pack. Didn’t draw a profile so; CT had 6 fractures between 10cm and 100cm, 5 Q3, one Q2 which was under the most recent storm snow. ECTN, fractures hardly spread the width of the shovel.
Skied one lap of the bowl, dropping in from 50 degree slope, with no slides, sluff or movement, another party had skied two laps with no slides, sluff or movement.

Weather:
Overcast, sun came through the clouds a couple times. Temps in the 20s above ~6000 ft. and low 30s below ~6000ft. Beautiful day! Lightly snowing above 7500ft. after 2pm.

Wind:
Very little wind was observed. No gusts, a light breeze on the ridge line.
