Observation Date: 11/21/2015

Route/Location:
Touring on east and north aspects above Downing Mountain Lodge.

Weather:
Sunny, today’s freezing line at 6500′. Temperatures dropped noticeably after 4pm.

Wind:

New Snow: 6-12″

Avalanche Activity:
Some wind slabs present in leeward terrain.

Other Comments:
Found facets surrounding a ground crust at 8000′ NE aspect. This pit had poor structure, but the layers seemed well bonded and were not failing with much energy (ect25+). Total snow depth in pit was 3′. Variable snowpack depending on aspect. 3+ feet in spots and wind swept in others. Beginning to fill in nicely up here!
