Heard some localized collapsing on an open, low angle slope, stopped to dig a pit

New Snow: 3-6″

Avalanche Activity:
No Natural activity observed.
Heard localized collapsing.
Pit structure was poor with a stiff melt/freeze crust on top of rounding facets with an old, weak crust underneath.
