Observation Date: 03/17/2017

Route/Location:
We were on the Mission divide at the head of Hellroaring Cr.

Weather:
Sunny and warm, icy in the morning and turning to corn in the afternoon.

Wind:
none.

New Snow: No New Snow

Avalanche Activity:
We saw glide cracks forming, recent slab avlanches that had pulled out underneath rocks, and abundant loose/wet avalanches.

We dug a pit and found the Feb 10th crust to be buried 130 cm. This had a 2 cm layer of facets on top of it. The new crust is approx. 20 cm thick and very supportable. Underneath that is a soggy slab of 4F snow.

Our pit was dug on a NE face at 6900 feet. Our results were ECTN 14 and CT11, Q3 both 20 cm down(Underneath the new crust). Also a CT18, Q2 40 cm down.
