Observation Date: 02/17/2018
Consistently heavy snowfall and high winds out of the W/SW. Snowfall and wind increased later in the afternoon.
Heavy winds with a lot of snow transport. Windslab development on lee slopes.
New Snow: 12+”
Saw several small soft slab releases on roadcuts and rollovers – E and SE aspects. Observed shooting cracks while touring. New snow has not had time to bond with the crust layer that developed this past week.
Lots of snow moving in! Low angle slopes are skiing great, but storm and wind slabs are super touchy.
