Observation Date: 02/28/2018

Route/Location:
2/27 Lost Trail backcountry – backside of Chair 4 and Saddle Mountain
2/28 Anderson Meadows

Weather:
Mostly cold and relatively clear – sunny aspects starting to see a little solar warming, especially by midday Wednesday, seeming to reduce snow available for wind transport. Not warming enough (me hypothesizing here) to create a sun crust, at least at the higher elevations

Wind:
Winds from the WSW. Not transporting a ton of snow today, as much seems fairly settled and beginning to bond (or already blown around), but mostly leaving a fun and skiable wind buff.

New Snow: 0-3″

Avalanche Activity:
No observed activity. Snowpack is well bonded, with a few instabilities noted on severely loaded (corniced) ridgetops and cross-loaded gullies (another party noted some instability as they crossed the SE aspect gully on Saddle Mtn).
