Observation Date: 12/16/2018

Route/Location:
Southern missions, south of Grey wolf attempting to ski in the basins near blacktail and weather peaks

Weather:
Partly sunny and windy. Wind coming south southeast

Wind:

New Snow: No New Snow

Avalanche Activity:
We dug A pit On and East/south east facing slope that was obviously wind affected. We found a wind slab about 15 cm deep. It propagated cleanly on an ECTP of 3. The pack below had a few weaknesses but none of them were active in testing. This top layer proved to be reactive while skinning as we got some shooting cracks and some whumpfing on similar slopes. Clearly, the wind and the snow is having an effect out there This is much different than the pit I dug a week prior at a similar aspect/elevation in the south Grey wolf basin which was right side up and stable
