Observation Date: 01/27/2019
A couple of pits from Brushy country.
1. Friday 7800′ north face, 2 m total snow:
ECTP8 15 cm deep, Q1
ECTP22 50 cm deep, Q2
ECTP28 90 cm deep, Q2
2. Saturday 7000′ east face, 180 cm total snow:
ECTN9 15 cm deep, Q2
50 cm deep layer present but not reactive in ECT.
82 cm deep BSH layer present, not reactive in ECT.
The 82 cm deep layer was reactive, popping at CT17. The results of the CT test had me retest the ECT 3 times but I did not get it to settle or propagate.
In 3 days of skiing steep east and north terrain we didn’t see or have any indications of poor stability.
New Snow: 6-12″
