Observation Date: 12/10/2019

Route/Location:
East Saint Mary peak, East face.

New Snow:

Avalanche Activity:
I saw a sizable crown mid way up the West couloir on Grey Wolf peak. The slide also triggered a larger slab in the fan below. The depth and character of the slide indicate it may have run on the buried ice crust from mid November, but I did not investigate the slide. There were no other acute signs of instability (no collapsing, and a reasonably supportable snowpack structure). I did not dig a pit and managed avalanche hazard by starting on low angle terrain.
