Observation Date: 12/28/2019

Route/Location:
Hiked up Paradise to the top of Point 6 then skied down into Jenny Bowl. Went back out to Paradise and skied to the truck.

Weather:
Party cloudy and a few snowflakes coming down.

Wind:
Light W winds on ridges, no snow being transported.

New Snow: 3-6″

Avalanche Activity:
Only minor sluffing on steep slopes.

Other Comments:
There was a skiff of snow in the parking lot and about 3-5 new inches of snow above about 7000 feet. Picked my way down through the trees into Jenny Bowl and skied dust on a melt-freeze crust. I avoided any open or connected steep slopes with the fear of triggering a persistent slab avalanche. I dug a pit at 6900 ft on a NE facing slope. Height of snow was 105cm and got a CT12SC failing 34cm from the ground on facets. Also got an ECTN failing on the same layer. The structure of the snow was poor and did not inspire much confidence.
