Route/Location:
Lolo Pass, Hangover Hill

Weather:
Heavy wet snow fell all day at times at a rate of an inch an hour. The snow line was approximately around the base of the pass (5000ft)

Wind:
Light winds with moderate gusts out of the west

New Snow: 12+”

Avalanche Activity:
On small test slopes below and above the road cuts in the hangover hill area was able to remotely trigger the new snow on steep rollover (>35 degrees). The crown was 12-16’’ on top of the buried Surface Hoar and Facets.

Other Comments:
I dug several Hand pits in the area while cross country skiing. failer on isolation on top of buried Surface Hoar and Facets very planer fractures. Several parties in the area reported widespread Whomping. The snow is very heavy and sticky, there is a very small margin where it is steep enough to ski but not slide.
