Observation Date: 01/18/2020

Route/Location:
From LSJ middle trailhead to summit hugging Bass Crk ridge, and back.

Weather:
Partial cloud cover, dense fog/cloud cover down to 8k’ at times, low 20’s, wind chills around 0.

Wind:
Almost none, except on peak, with occasional gusts to ~30 MPH

New Snow: 3-6″

Avalanche Activity:
Several ~2-3′ crowns from natural avalanches observed on variable aspects and bed surface types, mostly 35 deg + slopes, above 6.5k’ on Bass and Sweeney sides.

Other Comments:
No tests performed, just a leg day, skied low angle terrain. Crappy snow. Near the top, alternately unbreakable wind drums and heavy pow. Down lower, poor skinny coverage. Creek approaches might be better for Broot frontside for now?
