Observation Date: 02/05/2020

Route/Location:

Jenny Bowl

Weather:

Snowing with moderate winds out of the W.

Wind:

Moderate winds out of the W, which was loading easterly facing slopes and cross-loading others.

New Snow: 3-6″

Avalanche Activity:

Easily triggered sluffs, soft slabs, and wind slabs in terrain above 7000 ft. In wind loaded areas, there was over a foot of new snow by the end of the day and about 6 inches of new snow in areas not affected by the wind.

Other Comments:

I would expect the avalanche conditions to continue to rise throughout the storm. Avalanche conditions will get pretty sporty with the forecasted snow and wind. Manage your terrain carefully as triggering a large new snow avalanche is likely.
