Observation Date: 01/02/2021
Down in flats below LT ski area
OVC, S-1, Winds L NW
New Snow: 0-3″
HS from 120cm (NW-NE) to 80cm (S-SE)
Looking for buried weak layers and we found 2 layers (SH and FC) in the upper pack and a significant layer near the bottom that provided propagation likely (ECTP25 down 70cm) results in the shallower areas. Seemed like the combination of more settled upper pack (slab) and shallower snow depths made for a more reactive deep weak layer in our tests. The deeper areas did not produce ECTPs.
