S ridge and SE bowl of Big Jo
New Snow: No New Snow
Skied the S ridge/SE Bowl of Big Jo. Dug pits at 8500 ft on East and NE aspects in the SE bowl and found 200cm of well consolidated windboard and unreactive ect results.
The steep approach slope that leads from bass creek to the bottom of the SE bowl has faceted all the way to the ground, and will be unlikely to bear any kind of a load when it does snow again. Not a single avalanche observed on any visible peaks from the summit of Big Jo.
